The Engineering and Public Works Roadshow is rolling into San Diego this weekend to highlight one of the most transformative infrastructure projects in the nation — Pure Water San Diego. This innovative water reuse program is setting a national model for sustainability, resilience, and community impact.

Hosted in partnership with the City of San Diego and ACEC California, this stop on the Roadshow will bring together engineering leaders, policymakers, and the public to celebrate how investments in critical infrastructure improve lives and strengthen communities.

About Pure Water San Diego

Pure Water San Diego is the City’s landmark program to provide a safe, reliable, and sustainable local water supply by recycling and purifying water for drinking. By 2035, the project will provide nearly half of the city’s clean water supply, reducing dependence on imported water and addressing long-term challenges from drought and climate change.

This project isn’t just about technology — it’s about trust, leadership, and partnership. Community outreach, collaboration among city, state, and federal partners, and cutting-edge engineering have all played a role in making Pure Water a reality.
