The Engineering and Public Works Roadshow and Engineering Workforce Consortium headed to Capitol Hill

During this year’s Engineers Week, the Engineering and Public Works Roadshow once again brought the energy of the engineering community to Capitol Hill, along with our partners from the Engineering Workforce Consortium.

Groups joining the Capitol Hill open house included:

  • American Council of Engineering Companies
  • American Public Works Association
  • American Society of Civil Engineers
  • American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers
  • Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers – USA
  • Society of American Military Engineers

The open house created a dynamic forum for connecting policymakers and leaders in the engineering and public works industry. This event underscores how collaboration is essential to meeting today’s infrastructure challenges, including growing the workforce.

We were especially pleased to welcome staff from several important offices including:

  • Congressman Jefferson Shreve, member of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee’s Highways and Transit Subcommittee
  • Congresswoman Dr. Alma S. Adams, ranking member of the Committee on Education & Workforce Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Development
  • Congressman Joe Wilson, member of the Committee on Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Development
  • Congressman David Schweikert, member of the Career and Technical Education Caucus
  • Congressman Mike Lawler, member of the STEM Education Caucus and PFAS Task Force
  • Transportation and Infrastructure Committee
  • Education and Workforce Committee
  • House Armed Services Committee

The Roadshow’s Capitol Hill stop reinforced a simple but powerful message: strong infrastructure policy depends on strong partnerships.
