ACEC’s Statement on BAAJA

Today ACEC released the following statement on the Senate’s Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act (BAAJA) which addresses permitting reform: 

“As the business voice of America’s engineering industry, the American Council of Engineering Companies has long supported permitting policies that facilitate the delivery of critical infrastructure while ensuring responsible environmental protections and opportunities for public involvement. The Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act is an important step forward in reforming an inefficient permitting process that too often delays good projects and raises costs. ACEC applauds Senators Capito, Whitehouse, Lee, and Heinrich for reaching a bipartisan agreement on this comprehensive permitting reform bill and we urge Congress to seize on this momentum to send a bill to the president’s desk this year.”
