Today, the ACEC Research Institute announced that the ACEC Retirement Trust has made a Founder Circle donation to the Institute. The donation will allow the Institute to continue delivering data and insights that enhance the engineering industry.

Since its inception in 1973, the independent ACEC Retirement Trust has evolved into a comprehensive retirement services program offering competitive investment opportunities, fiduciary oversight, financial education and support for ACEC-member firm plan participants. Today, the Trust brings together over 380 employer-sponsored plans representing more than 25,000 participants.

“We are excited to help support the Institute’s mission of delivering research and resources to the engineering industry that we serve every day,” said Deb Stevens, executive director of the ACEC Retirement Trust. She continued, “We are able to do this through non-plan related reserves as the Trust’s goal is to operate at a net-zero profit to pay for expenses generated through our low plan asset fees. This donation exemplifies our commitment to driving the industry forward through the invaluable data that the ACEC Research Institute provides.”

“ACEC Retirement Trust’s support of the ACEC Research Institute allows us to continue producing research that helps engineering firms navigate the industry with confidence and turn headwinds into tailwinds,” said Steve Lefton, chair of the ACEC Research Institute. He continued, “With this continued investment, we can further our production of actionable research and real-world guidance through initiatives like ‘The Firm of the Future’ that the industry can use to adapt, sharpen performance, and stay competitive.”

In addition to conducting original research, the Institute has awarded $678,000 in student scholarships over the past year to help future engineers join this transformational industry.

The ACEC Research Institute’s data is often cited by media outlets and is available on the Bloomberg Terminal, a tool for financial professionals that provides real-time data, news, and analytics. The Institute’s sought-after experts are also frequent contributors to industry podcasts.

ACEC Retirement Trust joins a growing list of donors that have stepped forward over the past few years to support the ACEC Research Institute at the highest level, Founder Circle. Many of these donors were early contributors that helped launch the Institute.
