The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) has been named one of the Washington Business Journal’s 2026 Best Places to Work. This prestigious recognition is based on many factors, including confidential employee surveys that measure engagement, culture, and workplace satisfaction.

The annual award highlights the top 100 organizations across the Washington region where employees report high levels of trust in leadership, strong collaboration among colleagues, and a positive work environment.

For ACEC, the recognition reflects the strength of its mission-driven culture and the dedication of its staff to supporting the engineering industry that designs America’s built environment.

“Our greatest asset is our team,” said Linda Bauer Darr, president and CEO of ACEC. “This recognition is especially meaningful because it takes into account feedback from our staff. Their commitment to one another and to ACEC’s mission is what makes this organization such a strong and rewarding place to work.”

ACEC represents nearly 5,500 engineering firms and more than 650,000 engineers, surveyors, architects, and other specialists nationwide. ACEC advocates for policies that support infrastructure investment, innovation, and the growth of the engineering workforce. The organization’s staff works closely with member firms, policymakers, and industry partners to advance the engineering profession and strengthen communities nationwide.

The Washington Business Journal’s Top Places to Work program recognizes the importance of cultivating a great workplace culture as a competitive advantage and celebrates the hard work of top-performing companies in the Greater Washington region.
